This was for a project where we were supposed to make a conceptual piece. I don’t know that I did so well with making this image conceptual, but I still like how it turned out. I wanted to make a peacock out of leaves. Before doing this project, I had been to a farm where they had several peacocks and I think that’s where the idea for a peacock came from. When it was time for me to do this project, I went around and collected leaves of different shapes and sizes and played with them until I came to this design. I painted most of them, all except the dark green ones. When I first started photographing the image, the tail wasn’t as long as it is now. While photographing, I decided to make the tail longer, which helped it look more like a peacock.
